I'm a developer who writes, and a writer who ships. I founded Field Day Labs, where I build web software in Next.js and TypeScript, and through Authors Collective I write technical content for Algolia.
Lately I think most about AI that has to behave. In MoveRoom, the product I'm building, a model generates images and screens content, but rules run first, a failure means nothing gets published, and anything flagged is held for human review. I wrote a guide on why that pattern works.
I've been making software since 2009, and I still write down my assumptions before I start. Mostly because I've been wrong before.
